Curl

Mare Serenitatis

Letter of a dying woman
Sitting at the top of the world, watching the world go by, traveling with the world in my eyes, it’s time to go to sleep, to curl up inside and go to sleep. I’ve been rich, I’ve been poor. I’ve met kings and queens, beggars and paupers; of all I have received the gift of life. With peace in my heart and a smile on my face, I am ready. I thought I would be afraid. I thought I would be hesitant and begging not to go. Yet I feel calm and know it is time to go to sleep. From the top of this lighthouse which will guide my path, I bid farewell. Now, which way should I go, into the light or towards the darkness? And this is where life is, in choosing. Even while dying, I live.
